Putin Tells Trump He Will Have To Respond To Ukraine's Operation Spiderweb

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had spoken with Russian leader Vladimir Putin over the phone, including on Ukrainian attacks on Russian airfields, referring to the conversation as "good", although adding that it was not the one leading to immediate peace.

The U.S. leader commented on the call in a post on his own social network Truth Social , Ukrinform reports.

"We discussed the attack on Russia's docked airplanes, by Ukraine, and also various other attacks that have been taking place by both sides,” Trump specified.

"It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate peace. President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields," Trump wrote, adding that the call lasted for an hour and 15 minutes.

In addition, Trump noted that he discussed with the Kremlin chief the Iranian nuclear issue.

"I stated to President Putin that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and, on this, I believe that we were in agreement," Trump wrote.

In this context, he also noted that Putin offered to participate in the negotiations with Iran to help resolve the issue.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a unique Operation Spiderweb, simultaneously attacking four Russian airfields hosting warplanes, including strategic bombers that terrorize Ukraine with missile strikes. The stunning raid involved swarms of small drones smuggled deep into Russia, concealed in trucks.

U.S. President Donald Trump has so far refrained from commenting on the operation performed by Ukraine's Defense Forces. The Administration has also remained quiet, only noting that Ukraine had not notified the U.S. of the upcoming sting attack.
